Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policy
Introduction
Chatham Soccer Club is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our sport organization. This policy outlines our commitment to preventing harassment and discrimination and ensuring a respectful environment for all participants, employees, volunteers, and members.
Policy
Chatham Soccer Club prohibits discrimination and harassment based on any of the grounds protected by the Ontario Human Rights Code. These grounds include:
- Ancestry, colour, race
- Citizenship
- Ethnic origin
- Place of origin
- Creed
- Disability
- Family status
- Marital status (including single status)
- Gender identity, gender expression
- Record of offences for which a pardon has not been granted or a record suspended
- Sex (including pregnancy and breastfeeding)
- Sexual orientation We will not tolerate discriminatory or harassing behaviour and will take appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or membership, if a complaint is proven.
Examples of Prohibited Behaviour
- Verbal or written abuse or threats
- Physical assault
- Unwelcome remarks, jokes, or innuendos about a person'sbody, sexual orientation, race, religion, etc.
- Display of offensive material
- Sexual harassment, which includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature
How to Report Harassment or Discrimination
If you experience or witness harassment or discrimination, you can report it to the President of the Chatham Soccer Club. The President will investigate the complaint and make recommendations to address the situation.
Confidentiality
We understand that reporting harassment or discrimination can be difficult. Chatham soccer Club will keep all reports confidential to the extent possible.
